Our Values

The following represent the core concepts we hold vital to the ongoing success of our organization.

Excellence- We value the quality of care and education we provide to people.  The heart of this value is to embody the call to work as if working for Christ himself.  This entails obtaining appropriate specialty training and certification as needed to be able to offer accurate and useful information to people.  It also implies that we will continually seek to provide ongoing education to our members to maintain a high quality of the services we offer.

Empowered- We value the leading and gifts of the Lord through the Holy Spirit to better serve others.  We believe that God still gives spiritual gifts and is active.  In light of this we recognize that our effectiveness and success is tied to the work of God and our reliance on Him.

Prayer- We value the importance of corporate and individual prayer to change lives.  It is fundamental to the success of our goals and is essential to all we seek to do.

Equipping- We value the imparting of knowledge and wisdom to improve the human condition.  We seek to educate people about the Bible and the truths contained within it.  We desire to educate people to find these truths on their own.  We also value the education of local communities and healthcare providers to care for the ill and prevent disease.  As part of our educational goal we desire to continually expand the quantity and quality of information we are able to offer to people.

Selfless service- We value the importance of church.  We recognize that God appointed each person to have a role in the church and compared it to a body.  In that same manner our organization must function as a body and be devoted to each other accomplish its goals.  No one person can seek to be greater than another but be servants and put God and others before themselves.  In this way the organization can function as a body and accomplish what God has purposed us to do with those we help as well as organizationally.

Discipleship- We value the development of characteristics which Christ modeled to us.  In part this entails the fruit of the Spirit, which are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. –Gal 5:22 We also seek to model grace, mercy, purity of heart, and wisdom.  It is our desire to develop these within the organization itself but to also encourage those we help to develop these as well.

Stewardship- We value the gifts God has given to those in the group and seek to use those talents and skills in ways that give honor to God.  Our desire is to uphold the Hippocratic Oath in the medical care we give.  When Biblical instruction is given we also seek to provide education that is well founded in Scripture.  As we seek to fulfill our vision we value the safety of all those involved and prevent harm coming to them whenever possible.

Financial integrity- We value transparent and honest disclosure with respect to finances.  We value the assurance of outside auditing to those who chose to donate their resources.  Our desire is to be generous and use the financial resources we are given in a way that maximizes its usefulness.

Cultural sensitivity- We value the manner in which we offer the help we seek to give.  We desire it to be appropriate for the time and environment in which it is offered.  We seek to celebrate cultural uniqueness and not impose our standard of living, cultural or political ideals.  The help we offer is to be in no way tied to the acceptance of our religious paradigm.

Collaboration- We value partnering with local efforts to further their effectiveness to change the lives of that community.  In this light it is key to coordinate with organizations already in place whenever possible in ways that further our overall vision.

Sustainability- We recognize the importance of not only short-term efforts but also long term strategies to change lives.  We value investing our resources in opportunities that will have lasting impact on people, whether this means providing for an immediate need or a means to meet an ongoing need.
